The Evangelical Fellowship for Lesbian and Gay Christians 1979-1999
compiled by Sigrid Rutishauser-James (2000)
A5, 104 pages, price £6.00, ISBN 0 9528347 1 5

This book, which marks the 20th anniversary of the Evangelical Fellowship, contains selected articles from newsletters over the years, plus a wealth of further material about the activities of the Fellowship and its engagements with the wider world. It thus provides glimpses into the many issues affecting lesbian and gay Christians in the late 20th century.

Bloom where you are:
A biblical pilgrimage
George Hopper (1996)
A5, 32 pages, price £2.00

George Hopper, a Methodist local preacher who is not gay, describes a Damascus road experience and the consequent biblical pilgrimage from a position of homophobia to one of Christian love and admiration for his lesbian and gay Christian friends.

Understanding the Bible Today
Phil Gardner (1985; rev. 1987, 1990)
A5, 12 pages, price £1.50

Based originally on the text of a talk given at an EF Conference in November 1985. Phil Gardner considers some important questions: How do we use the Bible? How are we to understand it in the light of its original context? What is the Bible? Should we acknowledge it to be the authoritative Word of God? If so, in what sense?

The Bible and Homosexuality
Andrew Shackleton and Phil Gardner (1991)
A5, 12 pages, price £1.50

This booklet looks at the biblical passages traditionally associated with homosexuality, tries to understand what their authors were really saying, and attempts to draw parallels with today's situation. There follows some consideration of other biblical themes that may be considered more relevant to the gay person.

Nehemiah
Reflections from a gay perspective
Sigrid Rutishauser and others (1990)

A5, 28 pages, price £1.50
This booklet is based on a series of studies that Sigrid wrote for EF in 1989, the Fellowship's tenth-anniversary year. It also includes drawings, meditations, prayers and articles around the themes of 'building the walls' and coping with opposition. Though written from a gay viewpoint, it is intended for a wider readership, as there is much in it of interest to non-gay Christians, especially evangelicals.
